WHAT WE DO

We handle inbound and outbound firearm transfers for Michigan residents.

This includes standard firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns, frames, receivers) and NFA/Class III items such as silencers and short-barreled rifles.

If you are buying a firearm online or need to ship one to another state, we can help.

BEFORE YOU BUY A FIREARM ONLINE

• Make sure the firearm is legal in Michigan before purchasing.

TRANSFER FEES

STANDARD FIREARMS (handgun, rifle, shotgun, frame, receiver):

– $65 for the first item

– $20 for each additional item in the same transfer

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS / OUT-OF-STATE IDs / CITIZENSHIP EXCEPTIONS:

– $110 for the first item

– $20 for additional items

NFA ITEMS (silencers, SBRs, AOWs):

– $130 per item

– $250 per item for international or special citizenship cases

MACHINE GUNS:

– Pricing is case-by-case depending on liability and item value

TRIGGER LOCKS (required by Michigan law and ATF regulations):

– Starting at $12 if not included with firearm

– You may bring your own with a receipt dated within 30 days

ACCEPTED TRANSFER SOURCES

We only accept incoming firearms that come from federally licensed firearm dealers (FFLs).

We do not accept transfers from private individuals.

Shipments must be via UPS or FedEx. We do not accept USPS shipments.

For a copy of our FFL, please have the seller email us at:

HOW THE TRANSFER PROCESS WORKS

STANDARD / NON-NFA TRANSFERS:

1. Purchase the firearm online and choose Red Circle Tactical as your receiving FFL.
   
2. Ensure the seller sends us a copy of their FFL and uses UPS or FedEx for shipping.
   
3. After the firearm arrives, please allow one business day before visiting. We must log and inspect the firearm.
   
4. When you come in, you will complete Form 4473 and undergo a NICS background check.
   
5. If Michigan law requires you to present a License to Purchase for your particular transaction, bring it with you.
   
6. Pay the transfer fee and purchase a trigger lock if one was not included.
   
7. After approval, you may take your firearm home.

NFA / CLASS III TRANSFERS

We handle NFA transfers including silencers, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, AOWs, and machine guns.

The federal process for these items is currently changing. Recent federal litigation has affected enforcement of certain NFA registration and approval requirements for covered untaxed firearms. Whether a Form 4 and federal registration are required depends on the type of NFA item, the transaction, and whether the purchaser and transaction are covered by the applicable court order. The federal government may also seek appellate relief, so requirements can change.

For suppressors and other NFA items, contact us before ordering so we can confirm the current transfer procedure that applies to your transaction.

For transactions that still require an ATF Form 4:

1. Have the seller ship the item to us along with the required FFL/SOT documentation.
2. We will contact you when it arrives and complete the applicable ATF paperwork.
3. Where required, we provide electronic fingerprints and passport photos.
4. Where required, we submit the application through ATF eForms.
5. After any required federal approval or authorization, you visit our store to pick up your item and complete the required transfer paperwork and Form 4473. Any applicable background-check requirements will be handled as required.

Trust or corporation transfers may have additional documentation and responsible-person requirements. Contact us before the transfer so we can explain what will be required for your specific transaction.

Machine gun transfer rates are case-by-case.

ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY TRANSFERS

• Active-duty military members stationed in Michigan may qualify for treatment as residents of Michigan for federal firearms purposes when they meet the applicable requirements and have the required military orders and identification.
  
• Active-duty military members receive a discounted transfer rate.

OUTGOING TRANSFERS (SHIPPING TO ANOTHER STATE)

We can ship firearms to other states for you

Requirements:

• The firearm must be legal in the destination state.
• You must provide the receiving dealer’s FFL information.
• The receiving dealer must send us a copy of their FFL before we ship.

COST

STANDARD FIREARMS (handgun, rifle, shotgun, frame, receiver):

• Our transfer fee + $20, plus packaging and shipping costs.
• Shipping costs are quoted based on the firearm and the destination.

NFA ITEMS (silencers, SBRs, AOWs):

• Our NFA transfer fee + $20, plus packaging and shipping.
• Shipping costs are quoted based on the firearm and the destination.

MACHINE GUNS:

• Pricing is case-by-case depending on liability and item value.
